Budapest, 7 March 2022 - The liquidator informs Sberbank's customers that the court has published the order of the court of liquidation of Sberbank. The deadline for filing creditor claims has thus started, with 60 days from the date of publication.
Please note that the National Deposit Insurance Fund (OBA), according to its announcement published on 2 March 2022, has started to compensate depositors on the 3rd of March 2022 and has provided detailed information on the procedure to be followed. For registered deposits placed with Sberbank and insured by the OBA, the OBA will pay compensation of up to EUR 100,000 per depositor on the principal and interest amount of the deposit, as a general rule, which, calculated at the MNB exchange rate of the day preceding the day on which the compensation starts, means a maximum compensation amount of HUF 38,047,000.
Depositors will have 60 days from the publication in the Official Gazette of the court's decision to open winding-up proceedings to notify the liquidator of their claims for deposit claims exceeding this maximum amount of compensation or not covered by the OBA.
